The third vice president of the Junta de Andalucía and counselor of Economy, Finance, and European Funds, Carolina España, has come out in defense of the actions of the Andalusian Government in the Niebla (Huelva) fire and its policy of forest fire prevention.

"In Andalucía, the resources allocated to prevention are greater than the resources allocated to extinction. Never before in Andalucía has there been such a provision of means as there is now," she stated this Monday during a press conference in Málaga.

In relation to the PSOE-A's request to hold an "urgent" plenary session in the Andalusian Parliament to "give explanations" about what happened in Niebla, España emphasized that "they have no problem at all." "If we need to appear, we will appear," she indicated, while highlighting the role of the first vice president and counselor of the Presidency, Health, and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz.

"Every day, Counselor Antonio Sanz has been there, for which I have to express our gratitude because he has given his all every day in this fire and in all those that occur in our land," she emphasized.

The third vice president has called on the socialists to "do a bit of self-criticism" regarding "those aerial means they promised and did not fulfill." In her opinion, "I believe that in complicated situations, such as fires, administrations need to be united."

"We are seeing throughout Spain and in much of the world how fires are increasingly evolving in a more uncontrolled manner," she concluded.
