The Seventh has made a first public gesture towards Sarah Santaolalla after it became known that the communicator will be part of the new national television network and that she will make a leap in her professional career to lead her own program.

The official account of the channel on X published a message directed to Santaolalla this Sunday, a reaction that comes just hours after verTele reported that her signing is finalized and that she will not only arrive as a panelist or collaborator, but as the host of one of the formats with which The Seventh will premiere its schedule

The publication from The Seventh serves as a public greeting to one of the names that had been linked to the project for weeks. The message can be consulted on the official account of the network itself.

Sarah Santaolalla will have her own program on The Seventh

The move comes after weeks of rumors about the television future of Sarah Santaolalla, a regular in recent years on the political analysis and current affairs spaces of RTVE.

According to what was reported this Sunday by verTele, The Seventh has finalized her incorporation and has decided to give her an original format, ruling out that her role will be limited to occupying a seat in the discussions of other programs.

The space is still in the development phase and fundamental aspects such as the title, schedule, duration, and final composition of the team remain to be known. The idea that the network is working with, according to the information published by the specialized media, is to create a meeting point between different profiles and to leverage Santaolalla's personality to introduce a younger and more informal tone within the channel's offering.

The publication this Sunday from The Seventh does not provide those details about the format on its own, which come from the information reported by verTele, but it represents a new gesture from the channel in the midst of a progressive presentation campaign of its faces.

From RTVE discussions to hosting her own space

The incorporation represents an important change for Santaolalla. Until now, her television presence has been mainly linked to political analysis and debate tables, with interventions on different channels and a particularly prominent presence during her most recent stage at RTVE.

The communicator has participated in spaces such as Mañaneros 360 or Malas lenguas, in addition to having previously been on Cuatro programs and other television formats. Now she will take on a leading role for the first time as host of a space within a national generalist channel

One of the uncertainties is whether the incorporation will necessarily mean her complete departure from RTVE. verTele points out that La Séptima has not established a general exclusivity rule for all its professionals so far and that each contractual situation will be studied individually

La Séptima had been pointing to Santaolalla for weeks

The arrival of Santaolalla does not come as a surprise. José Miguel Contreras, one of the main promoters of the project and also a key figure in the birth of laSexta, already acknowledged at the end of July that there were conversations with the communicator.

In an interview with EFE, Contreras included her name among the professionals with whom the new television was in contact, although he then avoided specifying what her definitive role would be. "We only want people who are excited about this project," he explained when talking about the team they were forming.

During August, various reports indicated that the preferred option was precisely to assign her one of the formats on the schedule, a possibility that would have finally closed in recent days.

A channel that is starting to show its faces

La Séptima is using its social media to progressively reveal the names with which it intends to reach television.

One of the major signings is Javier Ruiz, who left Mañaneros 360 and joins the new project in a prominent role. The channel has also announced additions such as Rocío Delgado, while Alba Carrillo and Marta Márquez will be together at the helm of Fuera de control. Héctor de Miguel "Quequé" has also joined for a space related to political satire, and Luján Argüelles is part of the names announced for the new programming.

Santaolalla now joins that strategy, but with a significant difference: the channel is preparing a program specifically for her, making her one of the faces on which its first schedule will rest.

La Séptima will start broadcasting on November 5

The new national channel has marked November 5, 2026 in red, the date on which it will officially begin its broadcasts coinciding with the reorganization of the TDT spectrum.

The company has defined the project as a generalist television focused especially on current affairs, analysis, and conversational formats, with a strong commitment to live broadcasting. The channel itself has announced that all its initial programming will be developed live.

The project is driven by Integrated Television Entertainment Services (SIETE) and foresees an initial investment of approximately 25 million euros, with the business objective of competing within the segment currently occupied by channels like Cuatro and laSexta.

Its launch campaign has precisely used social media as one of its main tools. Under messages like "Make Conversation Great Again," La Séptima has been building an identity that aims to move away from discussions based exclusively on confrontation and bet on a television of explanation, analysis, and conversation.
