The Valladolid town of Urueña celebrates from this Thursday the second edition of the "Festival de los libros," a cultural proposal that, under the slogan "Paraísos perdidos," will turn the Villa del Libro into a meeting point for lovers of the rural world, literature, and music.

The program will open this Thursday with the live broadcast of the space "Es la mañana de Castilla y León," from esRadio, directed and presented by journalist Fernando Puga from the e-LEA Miguel Delibes Center.

This first day, which combines literature and radio, will be completed with the recording of the podcast "Una hora, un libro," from Cadena SER, conducted by literary critic and writer Antonio Martínez Asensio.

Friday the 16th will be mainly dedicated to the child audience, with a painting workshop and traditional games in which the students of CEIP CRA Villas del Sequillo will participate.

In the afternoon, the focus will be on adults, with two differentiated workshops. The first, on creative writing, will be led by writer and literary critic Yolanda Izard. The second will be a workshop on handmade bookbinding taught by Fernando Gutiérrez and Rosa de Miguel.

The programming for Friday will conclude with the interview of Antonio Martínez Asensio with writer Santiago Lorenzo, author of "Los asquerosos" and "Contenta," his new book set in the rural world.

Activities will continue on Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th, again around "Paraísos perdidos," with a literary route through the ten bookstores of the Villa del Libro. For 50 minutes in each space, different authors will converse with the public, present their works, and sign copies.

On Saturday, the bookstores will welcome the following guests: Raúl Portero Lozano, at Kinari Books; Miguel Ángel Soria, at Libros K; Carlos Santos, at Primera página; José María Pérez, known as Peridis, at Alcuino; Tomás García Yebra, at Alcaraván; Ana Flecha Marco, at Páramo, and Gonzalo Abril Curto, at El Rincón.

As a closing for the third day, at 8:00 PM, the so-called route of the goliards will take place, which will evoke the wandering clerics and poor students of medieval Europe through a tour of different restaurants in the town, where poetry and music will be celebrated.

On Sunday, it will be the turn of writers Ignacio Martín Verona, at Boutique del cuento, and Pablo Díez, at Valdorum, who will join this literary proposal.

The official closing is scheduled for 1:30 PM at the e-LEA Center of the Villa del Libro and will feature the participation of the director, screenwriter, actress, and writer Elvira Mínguez, interviewed by the cultural journalist of El Norte de Castilla Victoria M. Niño.

The program will conclude with a performance by the singer Neonymus, a unique creator who integrates music, brain, spirituality, prehistory, and technology into a show that is difficult to classify.
