The meeting held in Madrid facilitated the exchange of knowledge for the implementation and expansion of brands from Brazil in the Spanish market
The Spanish Franchise Association (AEF), in collaboration with the Brazilian Franchise Association (ABF), organized the Brazilian Franchise Commercial Mission in Spain on the past days of October 19 and 20 in Madrid. The fundamental purpose of the event was to bring the franchise system of the South American country closer to the national market, exploring the real possibilities of business development and expansion for brands interested in starting their international journey in Spanish territory.
The central day took place on October 19 at the Radisson RED Madrid Hotel, bringing together various institutional representatives and professionals from the sector. During this meeting, the Executive Director of the AEF, Eduardo Abadía, presented the updated data of the franchise sector in Spain corresponding to the 2026 fiscal year, which served as an informational basis for attendees interested in understanding the current commercial environment.
The training program covered a wide variety of essential topics for the landing of new networks in Spain. Among the highlighted blocks were sessions dedicated to strategic development and the soft landing process, brand protection and intellectual property, as well as the legal regulation applicable to the franchise system. Practical aspects such as the search for strategic locations, bank financing, hiring aids, and the role of specialized media in the entrepreneurial ecosystem were also addressed.
The initiative had the participation of entities such as the Brazil-Spain Chamber of Commerce, Casa do Brasil, and Madrid Network, which presented various ways to promote bilateral commercial collaboration. These institutional resources were presented with the aim of facilitating the internationalization process of the brands seeking to establish themselves in the country, also relying on investment opportunities managed through organizations such as Invest in Madrid.
The closing of the event was handled by the eight participating Brazilian companies: Total Clean, Maria Pitanga, Lave & Pegue, Jah Acai, Detroit Steakhouse, Corpo Bueno, Ambos Colchões, and AM Integradora. Each of these brands shared their respective success stories and their experience in the market, allowing for a firsthand analysis of the business models presented and their growth prospects at a global level. With this action, the AEF reaffirms its commitment to strengthening economic relations between both countries and promoting a favorable environment for foreign investment in the franchise sector.
