The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing, and Food has reported that "for the first time since the outbreak began" no new positive cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) have been detected in the high-risk area, after the 302 samples examined during the last week returned negative results.

According to the department's details in a statement released this Thursday, since November 28, 2025, the date when the first case was confirmed, 11,331 wild boars have been analyzed. Of all of them, 379 have tested positive and 10,952 have been negative.

The Government has very positively assessed this week's data and has emphasized that "it reinforces confidence in the eradication strategy and in the biosecurity measures deployed since the beginning of the health crisis."

However, the regional authorities insist that the situation cannot yet be considered resolved, so all previously approved restrictions remain in effect. In this regard, the Executive reminds that it is "essential to comply with the restrictions, the biosecurity measures, and the collaboration of all citizens."

In the last seven days, 333 wild boars have been captured in the infected area. Since the start of the crisis, the total number of captures in this area reaches 10,727 animals, while the overall balance in all of Catalonia since January 1 amounts to 26,587 wild boars.
