Marriott International has closed an agreement with the developer SIIC to launch in Shanghai the first urban Ritz-Carlton Reserve on the planet, an ultra-luxury project whose inauguration is scheduled for 2030 on the iconic waterfront of North Bund.
The accommodation will be integrated into a mixed-use skyscraper of 103 floors and nearly 480 meters in height, designed to redefine the skyline of the Chinese metropolis.
The future hotel will feature 110 rooms and suites facing the Huangpu River and the historic Bund, within a complex that will also include offices, commercial areas, residences, and a panoramic viewpoint.
Thanks to this new opening, Shanghai will become the only city in the world that offers the complete range of the eight luxury brands that are part of Marriott's global portfolio.
From the management of the hotel company, it has been emphasized that this project responds to the increase in demand for tailored experiences and wellness from high-income travelers in major urban centers.
The developer SIIC, for its part, has pointed out that the initiative is part of the renewal plan for the North Bund district, with the aim of strengthening Shanghai's positioning as an international hub of culture, commerce, and tourism.
The complex will incorporate high-level dining spaces, event and meeting rooms, a spa center, and areas specifically designed for the comprehensive care and health of guests.
