Orange Morocco has agreed to remove the advertising support placed on the AP-7 towards Elche-Valencia, which features a map that incorporates Western Sahara as part of Morocco.
According to sources familiar with the case who spoke to Europa Press, the campaign will be uninstalled "in the coming days" and emphasized that it is not linked to MasOrange.
The decision comes after the formal complaint filed by the representative of the Polisario Front in Spain before the company's leadership, following the placement of said advertisement.
"From the Representation of the Polisario Front in Spain, we will remain vigilant regarding the effective withdrawal and/or replacement with an alternative that does not include the territory of Western Sahara," the organization stated in a communiqué.
The Polisario Front has also warned that it will undertake the actions that "are deemed appropriate" if the withdrawal is not carried out "within a reasonable timeframe."
