Refueling 50 liters of 95 gasoline costs this Sunday, October 25, about 87.20 euros, compared to 94.40 euros for diesel A. The difference is 7.20 euros for the same volume, with the national averages published by Repostaje.es based on the prices reported to the Ministry for Ecological Transition.

The reference, updated at 00:30, places 95 E5 gasoline at 1.744 euros per liter and conventional diesel at 1.888. These are averages from stations with available prices for each fuel, not a common rate for all gas stations.

How much does it cost to fill a 50-liter tank

The comparison requires using the same volume. A tank can have a capacity of 40, 50, or 60 liters, and the usual refueling will depend on how much fuel is left inside.

Therefore, the 87.20 and 94.40 euros represent the purchase of 50 full liters. They are not an estimate of what any driver will pay when filling their tank nor the cost of traveling a certain distance.

Gasoline and diesel: how they have changed compared to yesterday

The Repóstalo series places 95 gasoline at the same level as Saturday: 1.744 euros per liter. In diesel A, it shows a slight increase, from 1.886 to 1.888 euros. That difference amounts to ten additional cents when buying 50 liters.

The comparison with the beginning of October shows a decrease in both fuels. Gasoline has dropped from 1.820 to 1.744 euros and diesel, from 1.917 to 1.888. Applied to 50 liters, it is 3.80 euros less for gasoline and 1.45 euros less for diesel. This is the evolution of the averages of that series, not an identical reduction at each station.

How to find a cheaper gas station near you

The MITECO Hydrocarbons Geoportal allows you to check the prices of stations on the map. It is advisable to search for the exact fuel that the vehicle uses and compare nearby establishments or those located on the planned route.

The ministry points out that the map shows the current prices according to the information provided by the operators. To review previous dates, there is a historical query available. It is a relevant difference: a capture saved days ago does not replace the updated price before traveling.

In addition to the price per liter, it is important to review the hours, access, and conditions of any promotion. A discount conditioned on an application or a card must be compared with its requirements, not as if it were a price automatically available to all customers.

When it is worth deviating to refuel

A reduction of ten cents per liter means five euros when buying 50 liters. With only 20 liters, the savings drop to two euros. This calculation allows for assessing the necessary travel before choosing a distant station.

One must also deduct the fuel for the additional trip. As a hypothetical example, a total detour of ten kilometers in a car that consumes six liters per hundred would use 0.6 liters: about one euro with the current references. The time spent may sway the decision.

The comparison between gasoline and diesel per liter serves to know the refueling expense, but it does not allow deciding which car is more economical. To compare the cost of use, the actual consumption of each vehicle per hundred kilometers must be incorporated.
