Riyadh Air has released the first images of its inaugural Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with the renewed indigo color scheme, conceived as a symbol of the company's expansion since its commercial debut last June, after its exit from the paint shop of the American manufacturer in Charleston (South Carolina, United States).

According to the airline in a statement, the new tone references desert flowers in spring and Arabic calligraphy, and integrates with the current pearlescent white livery.

This aircraft will join the fleet shortly and will soon be seen at one of the 15 international airports where Riyadh Air operates. The company expects that approximately one in ten aircraft in its fleet will adopt this renewed image.

"Along with our pearlescent design, it reflects a modern and confident Saudi identity, and marks another important milestone, as we have grown to reach 10 aircraft and 15 destinations in less than four months," valued the airline's CEO, Tony Douglas.

In parallel, the airline has announced the opening of ticket sales for its new connection of four weekly frequencies between Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Milan (Italy), which becomes its fifth European route and the fifteenth worldwide.

Looking ahead to the coming years, Riyadh Air expects to operate flights to more than 100 destinations by 2030, in line with Saudi Arabia's strategy, which aims to attract 150 million visitors and manage 330 million passengers per year by that date. To support this growth, the company has purchase commitments for more than 180 aircraft, including models from Airbus and Boeing.
