The 407-ETR highway, one of the largest toll concessions on the planet and in which Ferrovial controls 48.3%, recorded a net profit of 459.1 million Canadian dollars in the first half of 2026, which represents an increase of 31% compared to the same period of the previous year.
During those six months, traffic volume decreased by 1.3% due to the cooling of economic activity and adverse weather conditions. However, the strong increase in average revenue per trip, which surged by 18% after the fare update, allowed for the compensation of the drop in vehicles and brought revenue to 1.108 billion Canadian dollars (690 million euros).
According to the statement sent regarding its semi-annual accounts, the gross operating result (Ebitda) also grew strongly, increasing by 24% to reach 952 million Canadian dollars (592 million euros).
The board of directors of 407-ETR, where Canadian pension funds CPP and PSP also participate with 44.2% and 7.5%, respectively, has given the green light to the distribution of a dividend of 0.71 dollars per share. Ferrovial will receive around 342 million euros through this route, more than double that of the previous year.
In a recent report, Banco Sabadell values these figures as "better than expected," highlighting that the strong advance of the fares has managed to counteract the weakness of traffic. Furthermore, it emphasizes that the announced dividend exceeds market expectations, which, in its opinion, demonstrates the management team's confidence in the operational evolution of the concession in the coming quarters.
