The Catalan Parliament has formally requested the Govern to open negotiations with the central Government to assume full control of the Catalan airport system in favor of the Generalitat. The proposal has been approved with the support of all groups, except PSC-Units, which abstained, and PP and Vox, which voted against.

This request is part of a motion presented by Junts that the plenary approved this Wednesday, and it resumes a demand that the Chamber had already endorsed in a resolution approved on July 16.

Another section of the motion that has progressed (with the abstention of the PSC and the rejection of Vox, Comuns, and CUP) demands that the Govern require the central Executive to carry out the necessary actions to review the Airport Master Plan, so that the planned investment for the Satellite Terminal of Barcelona Airport is incorporated.

Likewise, the Parliament has given the green light to request the Government for the "urgent" publication of the detailed income statements of each of the airports in the Aena network, retroactively and with the commitment to disseminate them annually.

In parallel, the Catalan Chamber has approved urging to accelerate investments in the high-speed railway stations of the airports of Girona and Reus (Tarragona), as well as actions on high-speed infrastructure, with the aim that the set of Catalan airports operates as an intermodal and interoperable system.
