The Institute of Tourism of Spain (Turespaña), together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, participates from September 7 to 13 in the XXIII edition of Vinoforum Rome, one of the most relevant professional meetings in Italy focused on wine, gastronomy, and wine tourism.

The Tourism Department of Turespaña in Rome is responsible for coordinating the Spain Space, a promotional area aimed at the professional sector where the wine tourism offer of various Spanish destinations and wine routes is concentrated, facilitating its dissemination to specialists and the public interested in wine culture and cuisine.

Throughout the week, the Turespaña stand will host more than 40 tastings, as well as tastings, presentations, and gastronomic pairings. Madrid, Andalusia, Aragon, Gran Canaria, and Catalonia will be present in these actions, showcasing the breadth of territories, products, and proposals related to wine tourism in Spain.

The program includes thematic days dedicated to different destinations and wine-growing areas. Madrid will bring a selection of wines from the D.O. Vinos de Madrid, while Andalusia will present references from Jerez, Condado de Huelva, Montilla-Moriles, Ronda, and Malaga.

Aragon, for its part, will focus its presence on its four main production areas: Calatayud, Somontano, Campo de Borja, and Cariñena. Gran Canaria will conclude the program with a showcase of wines and gastronomic products from the Canary Islands. In addition, the space will include tastings of wines with D.O. Cataluña and cavas.

Attendance at Vinòforum is part of Turespaña's strategy to enhance high value-added tourist segments and expand the diversification of the Spanish offer, with a special focus on enogastronomic tourism. According to the organization, wine tourism helps to highlight the cultural, gastronomic, and landscape heritage of wine-growing areas and contributes to de-seasonalizing tourist activity.

"Italy is a market of great interest for Spanish enogastronomic tourism," said Gonzalo Ceballos, director of the Spanish Tourism Department in Rome, who highlighted that the presence at Vinoforum allows for visibility of the work of destinations, wine routes, and Spanish companies to an audience interested in wine culture and gastronomy.

Vinoforum brought together more than 19,000 professionals and 80,000 visitors in its 2025 edition, according to data provided by Turespaña.
