The deputy of Unidas por Extremadura, Nerea Fernández, has announced that her group will support the total amendment filed by the PSOE to the General Budgets of the community, considering that they "do not address the pains" suffered by the region.
"This budget does not address Extremadura’s problems, but because it simply does not believe in the public, does not believe in equality and does not believe in the people who really sustain this land," said the parliamentarian of the left-wing coalition, who will also defend her own amendment to demand the return of the bill.
Fernández stressed that this is a budget that "is not for Extremadura," and explained that Unidas por Extremadura agrees with the socialists in much of the diagnosis set out in the total amendment.
As she emphasized, her party refuses to contribute to PP and Vox continuing to "make up the accounts," since these are figures that "do not address Extremadura’s problems, because it is not designed to solve them, it is designed to hide them," while, in her opinion, the community's future is "still being cut back." In contrast, they defend their own model, in which, unlike the PSOE, "precariousness is not managed, but rather is truly ended."
In any case, she said she shares with the Socialist Group that these accounts are "propaganda, makeup and submission to the ultra agenda," although they disagree "on the exit model," since Unidas por Extremadura argues that "one must not manage the injustice brought to us by these budgets, but rather they must be transformed."
For the deputy, this is a budget that is born "quite inflated and made up," estimating "non-execution" at more than 860 million euros. "The Junta de Extremadura presents us with a record budget of 9.254 billion, but we already know that a huge part of that money is not going to be executed, which is always where the magnifying glass must be put, in where and how it is executed," she pointed out.
She also referred to the increase of 1.451 million euros in credits and to the 673 million allocated to amortizations, as well as to the fact that the "imbalance" between non-financial revenues and expenditures has doubled in three years to reach 1.046 million, which, according to her, implies that "we depend more on third parties and on debt to balance these accounts".
Criticism of fiscal policy and the economic model
Just like the PSOE, Unidas por Extremadura rejects the "fiscal injustice" of some accounts that include a "gift of 28 million euros" to the owners of the Almaraz nuclear power plant, companies that obtain profits of more than 10 billion euros, while the regional Executive only claims the "crumbs of IRPF for earned income," which amount to around 4.21 euros per month for the first 20,200 euros of base.
However, while the socialists identify a problem of "more management," the left-wing coalition denounces the execution of "a deeply unjust economic model" driven by PP and Vox, which "literally goes through those who have the least, who are the working class."
In its own total amendment, Unidas por Extremadura emphasizes that this budget cuts by 48.6% the funds of the Youth Council and boasts of housing policies that it considers "one of the great lies" of the accounts of the government of María Guardiola, since they include, Fernández has said, a "24.7% cut to the General Directorate of Public Housing," when, in her view, rents should be regulated and "large holders should be pursued."
The deputy has added that women are also not given an adequate response, since Social Services lose "more than six million euros," nor working people, with a cut of 5.5 million in the SEXPE and a drop of 22.3 million in direct employment aid.
Likewise, she has denounced that the rural world is once again left unattended, since the allocations for forests are reduced by 11 million euros and the budget for fire prevention falls by 13%.
In the health field, she has lamented that Primary Care continues at 16.5% of health spending, despite the "endless waits," while referrals to private health care and overtime shifts "do not stop growing." In education, she has reproached the consolidation of "a voucher for the private sector" instead of opting for "a real public network" from zero to three years old.
