The Vox spokesperson in the Parlament, Manuela Cañadas, has reiterated her support for the presumption of innocence of her party colleague and second vice president of the Consell de Mallorca, Pedro Bestard, after the Prosecutor's Office filed a complaint over an alleged irregular use of official vehicles.
Asked about this matter at a press conference this Monday in the Parlament, Cañadas insisted that she prefers not to jump to conclusions and that it will be Justice that must clarify the facts. "We are going to wait for there to be a trial, if there is one, and for everything to be settled in the courts," she stated.
In addition, the Vox leader lashed out at left-wing parties for their attacks on Bestard, understanding that they act with a double standard and that "they only call for resignations when something happens in the PP or in Vox". In the same vein, she pointed out that "We already know who the Prosecutor's Office depends on", thus questioning its impartiality.
