The Parliament has decided not to urge the Government to create a specific team of municipal agents responsible for locating vacant homes and checking their status, with the aim of incorporating them into the Lloguer Segur program.
This measure was part of a non-legislative proposal (PNL) registered by MÉS per Mallorca and defended by the deputy Ferran Rosa. The initiative has been rejected with nine votes against from PP, Vox, and the Mixed Group, against the support of the five deputies from PSIB and MÉS per Mallorca.
The proposal also included the launch of a plan to promote the rehabilitation of homes through direct aid, loans with subsidized interest, or tax deductions, provided that the properties were allocated to social rental for a minimum period of five years.
Furthermore, the PNL proposed that the Government create a housing observatory that, "with the necessary guarantees regarding data protection," would integrate and cross-reference municipal information on water consumption, property ownership, census, and the status of the properties to accurately determine how many homes remain vacant.
In the same commission, the celebration of appearances by the president of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, José Javier Sanz, has been approved to detail the urban planning proposal for the port of Palma; and by the spokesperson for the Alliance for Water, Rafael Tur, in order to present the main lines of action of the entity and analyze possible points of consensus for a water pact.
