The Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, stated this Tuesday in the Parliament, addressing the deputies of the PSIB, that "if there were PISA tests at the parliamentary level, they would be well below the national average."
During the plenary session this Tuesday, Vera thus concluded his response to the socialist deputy Amanda Fernández, who had questioned the Government about the start of the school year for students and teachers.
The PSIB parliamentarian criticized that classes had started in schools with extremely high temperatures and playgrounds without shaded areas for the students.
In response, Vera defended the actions of the regional government, highlighting that in July, practically all teaching positions had been awarded, the 250 million euros allocated for labor improvements, the increase in teaching staff, the incorporation of psychologists in the primary stage, the deployment of the teaching authority decree, the launch of the excellence baccalaureate, and the free transportation in vocational training. "If this is not starting the school year well, the beginnings of the school year of the Pact were the descent into Dante's hell," he pointed out.
