The Indian authorities reported this Friday the deployment of around 23,000 police and military personnel in New Delhi ahead of the protests called for this Saturday by the Cockroach Party movement (CJP). The mobilization does not have the approval of the competent bodies, as the organizers have not respected the established deadlines.

The members of the movement plan to demand again this Saturday the resignation of the head of the Electoral Commission, Gyanesh Kumar, appointed to the position by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and who is accused of manipulating the electoral census in favor of the government leader's party.

Forecasts point to interruptions and cancellations of services, particularly in the train network and in the metro of the capital. These cuts could intensify due to the absence of official permission for the protest and the precedent of previous demonstrations in the country, in which alleged violations have been reported.

It is estimated that about 57 metro stations will be affected by the mobilizations, so they will remain closed from 9:00 PM (local time) this Friday.

The spokesperson and leader of the CJP, Deepak Baliyan, has been released after his arrest by the police of the state of Rajasthan, in the west of the country. Baliyan has not yet publicly commented on his detention, although he has warned that his mobile phone has been destroyed.
