At least one person has lost their life and three others have been injured in a shooting that occurred during a celebration at a house located in the east of South Africa, according to the country's Police, which has not made any arrests so far.
The initial data from the investigation indicates that there were 13 men and one woman in the house, who is suspected to have been pregnant, participating in a party when three individuals burst into the property and opened fire on the attendees. Ten of the victims, including the woman, died on the spot, while four people were taken to a hospital, where one of them later died.
The head of the South African Police, Puleng Puleng Dimpane, has ordered the launch of a 72-hour search operation with the aim of locating and arresting the alleged perpetrators of the attack, which occurred on Tuesday in the town of KwaMakhutha, south of Durban, as reported by the government news agency SA News.
"There is no place in our communities for the senseless loss of lives," Dimpane emphasized, before insisting that the officers "must act decisively, mobilize all available resources, and pursue those responsible until they are brought to justice," she said. For its part, the Police has reiterated that "it will not relent in its efforts" until capturing the suspects who remain at large.
