The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated this Saturday its call for foreign diplomats stationed in Kiev to leave the Ukrainian capital, citing the "mortal risk" posed by Russian attacks on the city.

"The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again urges foreign citizens, including diplomatic mission staff, not to remain or travel to Ukraine. The responsibility for any adverse consequences will solely rest on those who choose not to heed this warning," the Ministry stated in a communiqué.

In that same message, Russian authorities also recommend staying away from Ukrainian "military facilities" and hint that they could be the target of new attacks "in response to the terrorist attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," which they accuse of attacking the civilian population and Russian infrastructure. "Some individuals are knowingly putting themselves at mortal risk," it stated.

"The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to carry out systematic and ongoing attacks against military targets in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities," Moscow has warned.

The Russian government emphasizes that it already issued a similar warning on May 25 and sent diplomatic notes to various states. It also reminds that several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland, and the EU, have advised their citizens not to travel to Ukraine.
