The authorities of Saudi Arabia maintained diplomatic contacts this Monday with Qatar and Oman to analyze the latest movements in the Middle East and "preserve stability" in the region, after Iranian authorities declared "victory" in the conflict against the United States and Israel, whom they accuse of "not having achieved any of their objectives."

According to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the head of the portfolio, Faisal bin Farhan, held separate telephone conversations with his Qatari and Omani counterparts, Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al Thani and Badr al Busaidi, respectively, to assess the situation.

"We have addressed regional issues and emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing and coordinated consultations among those countries that support security and stability in the area," Bin Farhan clarified, according to a statement released by his department.

In parallel, the head of the Iranian negotiating team and president of the Parliament, Mohamed Baqer Qalibaf, stated on Sunday that Iran has won the war against the United States and Israel because, in his opinion, neither has achieved the objectives they pursued with the start of the offensive, particularly the goal of provoking a regime change.

Qalibaf maintained that his country has "won the military and political dimensions" of the conflict and highlighted that the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States on June 17, considered the basis for talks to officially end the war, "is a document of honor and victory" for Tehran.

This scenario is exacerbated by the increase in tension between Riyadh and the Houthi rebels of Yemen, who in recent days have claimed attacks against key Saudi infrastructures, including a Saudi Aramco refinery located in a port in the southwest of the country, as well as against "sensitive" positions at Najran airport, in the south of Saudi territory.
