The European Commission has launched a public consultation for judges, NGOs, bodies, and citizens to convey their contributions to the annual review conducted by community services on the democratic situation in the Twenty-Seven, an analysis from which specific recommendations aimed at bolstering the rule of law in each member state of the European Union are derived every summer.

The consultation period will remain open until December 4 and will allow associations of the judiciary, civil society entities, NGOs, international organizations, EU agencies, and other interested parties, including companies, to submit their observations and assessments.

Brussels will integrate these contributions into the examination of the upcoming assessment on the rule of law in the countries of the Union and will also use them to evaluate the progress made, if any, since the publication of the previous report, released in July of this year.

The community executive considers this mechanism as "fundamental" to, from a "preventive and dialogical" approach, help strengthen the rule of law both at the national and European levels. This annual report has been prepared since 2020 and, for the past two years, includes specific recommendations for each country, although they are not binding for the member states.
