The Parliament of Morocco has given its approval by absolute majority to the program of the new Executive led by Prime Minister Fátima Zahra el Mansuri, who becomes the first woman to assume the leadership of the Government in the Maghreb country, at the head of an alliance formed by four parties.

The Government plan presented by El Mansuri has moved forward with 204 favorable votes and 127 against, which represents a clear endorsement from the House of Representatives to the new cabinet, arising from the legislative elections of September 23, in which the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) prevailed, the party headed by the new head of the Executive.

With this vote, the new Government is formally invested after a session in which El Mansuri defended a "new and ambitious" project that bets on a "break" in management methods and in the execution of public policies, according to the Moroccan state agency MAP.

The leader also emphasized that the government program was developed and agreed upon after "debates" and a "thorough examination" of the country's situation, taking into account that the PAM already integrated the previous tripartite in power during the mandate led by the National Rally of Independents (RNI), now excluded from the coalition.

The Prime Minister has reiterated her willingness to collaborate with opposition parties to define the political direction of the country through dialogue, stressing that "citizens expect results and that the Government will be up to the task." In this regard, she insisted on the need to regain the trust of the citizenry, especially after the low participation recorded in the last elections.

In recent days, El Mansuri has pointed out the control of Western Sahara as one of the central priorities of her mandate, advancing that her cabinet will work to gather greater international support for the Moroccan sovereignty plan over the territory, in the face of the firm rejection of the Polisario Front to this proposal.

The legislative elections in Morocco, with a participation below 40%, were marked by growing social discontent over the political and economic situation, as well as by tensions with Spain arising from the crisis that erupted at the end of July, when the irregular entry of tens of thousands of people into Ceuta occurred.
