The number of deceased from the landslides recorded on Saturday in the province of Jiangxi, in southeastern China, due to the intense rainfall associated with the typhoon "Saudel," has risen to twelve, as confirmed by local authorities this Tuesday.
According to information released by the state news agency Xinhua, as of this Tuesday, the bodies of twelve victims have been recovered in the town of Mingkeng, while rescue teams continue efforts to try to find a person who remains missing.
About 5,500 residents have had to be relocated to areas considered safer and nearly 640 emergency personnel are participating in the search and rescue operations in the areas affected by the landslides, which have destroyed several roads and seriously complicate access and the progress of the teams.
