The United States Army reported this Monday that, since the reactivation of the naval blockade against the coasts and ports of Iran, its forces have intervened on dozens of commercial vessels in the area.

"As of August 17, the Central Command of the United States Army (CENTCOM) has diverted 64 commercial ships, disabled three, and boarded two," the military authority announced in a message on social media in which it framed its actions in operations aimed at enforcing the aforementioned blockade.

According to the statement, the involved ships were destined for Iranian port facilities or were departing from them, and have been subject to different types of intervention by U.S. forces, as part of actions aimed at ensuring the enforcement of the blockade reestablished by Washington in mid-July.
