The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has presented a package of seven "essential solutions" to address the migration crisis that Ceuta is experiencing. Among the measures he proposes are the creation of a single command in the autonomous city, voluntary return or the expulsion of "all those who have entered illegally," as well as "reciprocity" in relations with Morocco.
"A single command now; voluntary return or the expulsion of all those who have entered illegally; respect and reciprocity in relations with Morocco; use all means; guarantee the inviolability of the border with infrastructure, human resources, technology, and legal reforms; European recognition of Ceuta; and a plan for economic reactivation," Feijóo has listed.
The popular leader appeared this Wednesday at a press conference from the autonomous city, accompanied by the president of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas. From there, he demanded that these initiatives be implemented "urgently," warning that if the central government does not address them, he commits to executing them if he gains "the trust of the citizens to govern Spain."
ACCUSING THE GOVERNMENT OF TREATING THE CRISIS AS "A SUMMER EPISODE"
The opposition leader has lashed out at the Government for, in his view, addressing the migration crisis in Ceuta as "a simple summer episode," and has denounced that, twenty days after the events, the people of Ceuta continue to "suffer the abandonment" of the central government.
"It's hard to believe, it's even hard to verbalize, but a Spanish city has been invaded in the middle of 2026 and the top officials responsible for responding to something like this intend to treat it as a simple summer episode, brushing it off on social media, via videoconference, or recommending beaches, music, and books on social media," he criticized.
Feijóo has emphasized that Ceuta is about to complete three weeks "hearing that everything is under control, with no effective solutions and without a single explanation of what has happened": "Even today we do not know exactly why it has happened."
