The Deputy Secretary for Health and Social Policy of the PP, Carmen Fúnez, underscored this Saturday that the commitment of her political formation "is logically to work, to ask for the truth of what has happened so that no one ever again feels fear when boarding a train and, of course, so that no family also feels fear and anguish because a loved one is going to board a train anywhere in Spain".

Fúnez made these statements in Urda (Toledo), a town to which she traveled to participate in the funeral mass held in the parish church in memory of the people who died in the recent train accident. The ceremony was officiated by the Archbishop of Toledo, Francisco Cerro Chaves, and was attended by the regional president of the PP, Paco Núñez, the mayor of Toledo and provincial president of the party, Carlos Velázquez, as well as other PP leaders.

During her remarks, the PP official emphasized that "Our commitment so that that fear, so that that unease and so that that insecurity, after Adamuz and now after Urda, well, disappear as soon as possible from Spanish society and we once again have calm, assurance and safety when we get on a train, when we travel on the roads of Spain or when we go out into the street".

At the same time, she wanted to emphasize that, on a day like today, "it is a day where the focus must remain obligatorily on the victims", to whose families they wish to convey their support, their affection "and all possible solidarity" at an especially painful moment after the loss of a loved one.

Fúnez added that the party's remembrance is likewise directed "to all the victims who are still in the hospital, and we are also going to pray for them and we are going to wish them a speedy recovery", without forgetting the families who continue without news of their loved ones "and who are living through days of tremendous anguish", she concluded.
