Hundreds of Ceutí residents have gathered this Sunday at the Juan Carlos I esplanade, located about three kilometers from the border with Morocco, to start a march towards the Tarajal border crossing with the aim of defending the Spanish identity of the city and demanding the protection of its territory.
The protest has been driven by the Provincial Federation of Neighborhood Associations (FPAV), which plans to read a manifesto at Tarajal with the purpose of emphasizing the need to safeguard the Ceutí border.
Leaders of the FPAV have arrived at the starting point carrying a defense Europe flag that leads the procession. Right behind, the attendees have unfurled a banner that reads the slogan "S.O.S Ceuta invaded".
At the esplanade, more than 200 people have gathered waving flags of Ceuta, Spain, and Europe. During the concentration, slogans such as "delegate, resignation" or "Tyrant, scoundrel, you are not a caballa" have been heard, referring to the government delegate, whose dismissal has been demanded in the citizen mobilizations since the beginning of the crisis.
After 12:00 hours, the crowd began to walk towards the border, accompanied by several vans of the National Police and military personnel. Simultaneously with the FPAV call, a motorcycle rally has been organized at the same time that also plans to converge in the Tarajal area.
