The federal coordinator of IU, Antonio Maíllo, has pointed out that the former mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, is a "magnificent candidate" for the general elections on November 29 and has emphasized that within his organization there is a "very positive" attitude towards her leading the Front Wide list.
Maíllo expressed this to the media in Madrid, after the meeting of the Federal Coordinator of IU, its main governing body, where he defended that Colau could aspire to the Presidency of the Government, considering that her trajectory fits into the "crucial" debate on housing.
"I believe it is magnificent news that a person, who symbolically and very solidly represents that struggle for the dignity of access to the human right of housing, leads a process in which, without a doubt, she can mobilize a lot of people (...) and people who had their doubts about voting," he stated in reference to Colau, on the same day that Más Madrid also proposed her as a candidate for Front Wide to head the list for Barcelona for November 29.
