The spokesperson of the PSOE in Congress, Patxi López, denounced this Saturday that PP and Vox are "taking advantage" of the crisis generated by the massive entry of migrant people in Ceuta to "continue attacking the Government." In his view, there is a clear "difference" between these two formations and the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, which "provides solutions," he emphasized.
López made these statements at the Political Conference of the PSPV-PSOE, which takes place this weekend at the University of Alicante (UA). There he participated in the event "Why we were and continue to be necessary?" alongside the socialist candidate for the Mayor of Sant Joan d'Alacant, Esther Donate. The meeting was also attended by the minister and candidate of the Valencian socialists for the Presidency of the Generalitat, Diana Morant, and the Minister of Finance, Arcadi España.
The socialist leader criticized that PP and Vox propose an "illegal" and "inhumane" proposal regarding migrants, as they demand to "throw them all out," something that Spanish legislation "does not" allow, he insisted. He also reproached the 'popular' that "not one" of the autonomous communities where they govern is willing to receive unaccompanied minors. "What little memory they have," he launched against both formations.
Later, he accused the PP of lacking "proposals" and "alternatives," and of limiting itself to its "thirst for power." "They are going to be frustrated again, because, once again, we are going to win," he warned, criticizing that the 'popular,' under the leadership of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, walk "hand in hand" with "deniers" of climate change and gender violence, referring to Vox, the party of Santiago Abascal.
Criticism of the discourse of PP and Vox and defense of Sánchez
On the other hand, he believes that PP and Vox intend to "dehumanize" Sánchez and that this "is very Goebbels, very much from the Nazis' communication manual." He also emphasized that there is "only" someone in the world "capable of confronting" leaders like the former President of the United States, Donald Trump; the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin; or the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu: "His name is Pedro Sánchez."
López has lashed out at those who, he has said, aspire to reach the Executive to "change the regime" and "destroy" what "has cost to achieve." In response, he has urged socialists to win the "street debate" and to raise a "they shall not pass." "There is nothing more valuable in this party than a militant," he has emphasized.
Regarding the recent victory of Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the region of Saxony-Anhalt, he has lamented that the triumph has been for a party "openly Nazi" and has recalled that the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, two days after that victory "stood up to them." In this context, he has assured that Vox "has remigration in its program" and has accused the PP of incorporating "in its governments" those of Abascal and his proposals.
The socialist spokesperson has expressed confidence that the PSOE will prevail in the upcoming municipal, regional, and general elections, and has pointed to Morant as the future president of the Generalitat. Furthermore, he has claimed the projects promoted with "socialist signature" in the recent history of Spain and has attacked former president José María Aznar, whom he blames, along with the PP, for giving lessons "all day long." During his speech, he has also admitted that "there is much left to do" in areas such as housing.
