The general secretary of the PP, Miguel Tellado, has urged this Monday the already resigned government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, to take advantage of his departure from office to detail who financed the primaries that Pedro Sánchez won in the PSOE in 2017. In addition, he has demanded that he clarify the origin of the funds he managed as president of Bancal de Rosas, the association in charge of the accounts of that internal campaign, a matter he has described as "with a whiff of sauna."
Tellado made these statements at a press conference at the national headquarters of the PP, after Fran Martín's resignation as government delegate in Madrid was made public, after being left out of the PSOE lists for the general elections on November 29.
The popular leader has emphasized that Martín is a "black leg sanchista" who accompanied Sánchez since he regained the leadership of the party in 2017. In his opinion, now that he has been left without a seat or institutional responsibilities, it is the right time for him to explain his involvement in those primaries, in which José Luis Ábalos, Koldo García, and Santos Cerdán also participated.
"We are not talking about just anyone, but a first-generation sanchista. The man who presided over Bancal de Rosas, the association that handled the accounts of Pedro Sánchez's primaries, the accountant of a campaign that is being investigated by Justice and that could have been financed with money from the businesses --related to saunas-- of Pedro Sánchez's father-in-law. It is time for him to provide those explanations, after Sánchez has left him out of the lists," he pointed out.
