The Government has expressed its "perplexity" after the decision of the National Court to suspend the camp for migrants set up by the Executive in the port of Ceuta, demanding "agility" and that action be taken "immediately" because the autonomous city "cannot wait".
Sources from Moncloa indicate that this resolution "stalls an immediate operational solution on the ground" and emphasize that the "complexity" of the "situation" should not lead to "inaction or institutional paralysis": "Getting these migrants off the streets of Ceuta is a priority".
The Government also maintains that the selected lands "are the most suitable and have all the security guarantees to carry out the operation", and warns that the decision of the National Court "paralyzes a logistical operation that was ready to be executed imminently", with capacity to accommodate "1,700 people", and "designed with strictly humanitarian and public order criteria".
The Executive reiterates that ensuring "dignified reception conditions in adequate infrastructures" constitutes the "main demand of the people of Ceuta and the Government of Ceuta" and urges that "solutions be provided to this unforeseen situation".
