The Official Defense Bulletin (BOD) has disseminated this Monday the order by which Brigadier General of Infantry Juan Carlos Moreno Arenas is designated as the new Chief of the "Rey Alfonso XIII" II Brigade of the Legion. The provision, processed at the initiative of the Chief of Staff of the Army (JEME) and signed by the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, will come into effect this Tuesday, September 1.
Until now, Moreno Arenas had been serving as the chief general of the Fourth General Inspection of the Army (Northwest), as well as the military commander of Valladolid and Palencia. In the exercise of these functions, he has established himself as one of the main military authorities in both provinces, with a regular presence at numerous institutional events and a constant relationship with representatives of the public sphere.
The position he leaves vacant in the Fourth General Inspection of the Army (Northwest) and in the Military Command of Valladolid and Palencia will be occupied by Brigadier General of Infantry Vicente Martínez Ribera. Until now, Martínez Ribera was serving as the director of the Army Aviation Academy (ACAVIET), a responsibility he now leaves to assume his new task.
With his arrival at the head of the "Rey Alfonso XIII" II Brigade of the Legion, General Moreno Arenas takes charge of one of the most significant units within the organization of the Armed Forces. His appointment is formalized in Order 430/12528/26, published in the official bulletin of the Ministry of Defense.
