The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, has attacked the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, whom he reproaches for being "absolutely devoted to the theses of the far right" with the goal of reaching La Moncloa "by any means and at any cost."

The also Secretary General of the PSOE of the Canary Islands has warned that the popular leader would be willing to accept a setback in rights and a "democratic regression" to reach the Government, even "embracing" formations that he considers "reminiscent of dictatorship and fascism."

In statements prior to the presentation event of the socialist candidacies in the islands for the regional elections on November 29, Torres emphasized that Feijóo "absolutely does not care if Spain regresses" if it allows him to access the central Executive.

"But those who will not care are the Spaniards or the Canarians, we are going to win these elections," he asserted, expressing confidence that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, "will be president again" and that the PSOE will continue "forward with the rights we have, preserving them and increasing them."

Asked about the possible disappearance of the Ministry of Equality in the event of a right-wing Government in Spain, Torres pointed out that "in life it is not what one says, but what one does."

"Any person, even Feijóo, can say they are a feminist, but then we go to the facts, not to the words. Is Feijóo a feminist who agrees with Vox in the autonomies to withdraw the fight against male violence?" he questioned.

In this regard, the minister has described the PP as "absolutely dependent on the far right to maintain their armchair and their seat."

In contrast to that position, he has highlighted the work of Pedro Sánchez's Executive, which he has qualified as "a feminist government" that will maintain the defense of the fight against male violence, strengthen the Ministry of Equality, and continue supporting the groups that work for women's rights.

"Mr. Feijóo, clearly, is not what he says, but what he does. Of feminist, absolutely nothing. He is accepting all the antifeminist theses because the far right imposes it on him," he concluded.
