Vox has communicated this Tuesday that it has filed a lawsuit before the Court of First Instance of Avilés against Adriana Lastra, head of the PSOE list for Asturias and who served as Government delegate until her dismissal on October 20, as well as against her substitute in the Delegation, Cecilia Pérez, and other officials who may be identified in the investigation, following the incidents that occurred during the rally of the Vox candidate for the Presidency, Santiago Abascal, in the Camposagrado square of Avilés on October 21.
According to the party, the Government Delegation allowed a counter-demonstration to be held very close by and just half an hour before the start of the event, without altering either the location or the scheduled time, despite being aware of the serious disturbances recorded that same morning in La Coruña during another Vox event.
In the document sent to the court, Vox states that several groups of demonstrators attempted to force their way into the event in Avilés and that there were reports of firecrackers and various objects being thrown, assaults on police officers, and damage to urban furniture. The National Police proceeded to arrest three people for alleged public disorder.
The criminal action is also directed against the organizers of the counter-demonstration linked to Asturies Antifascista, the Student Union, and Revolutionary Left, as well as against the material authors of the episodes of violence.
Vox requests the court to clarify the decisions made by the Government Delegation, the scope of the police operation deployed, and the possible criminal responsibilities arising from what happened.
Specifically, the lawsuit is directed against Adriana Lastra and against Cecilia Pérez and against any other authorities or officials of the Government Delegation in the Principality of Asturias who are found responsible for the decisions made for a crime of administrative prevarication in its omissive modality and a crime of denial of assistance.
Against the individuals who promoted the counter-demonstration in the name of Asturies Antifascista, Student Union, and Revolutionary Left, Vox files a lawsuit for an electoral crime, a crime of incitement to hatred, and another consisting of seriously preventing or disturbing with violence a meeting, in an attempted degree.
Finally, for the authors of the acts of violence, they glimpse an electoral crime, from article 514,4 in the degree of attempt, of assault against agents of the authority, of public disorder and of damages.
