The Board of Castilla y León has ordered this Thursday the deposit of 1,864,500 euros into the accounts of 339 farmers, ranchers, and professional beekeepers who were affected by the fires recorded this summer in the provinces of Ávila, León, Segovia, and Zamora.
Each of the beneficiaries receives an initial aid of 5,500 euros per farm, once the administrative processing of the already approved subsidies has been completed and the corresponding payment order authorized. The Ministry has given "priority" to the resolution of this file so that the funds "reach those affected as soon as possible," as specified by the regional department in a statement.
The 5,500 euros represent an initial economic support and can be raised to a maximum of 25,000 euros per farm, depending on the final assessment of the damages caused. This aid is part of the first package of measures of the recovery program designed for the areas affected by the forest fires of the summer of 2026, as the regional Administration recalls.
With this first payment, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Environment, and Environmental Policy launches the first phase of the aid program planned for the professionals harmed by the forest fires of the summer of 2026. In parallel, the assessment of the damages will continue with the aim of specifying, when appropriate, the additional measures necessary to promote the recovery of the affected farms.
