Facua-Consumers in Action has asked the population to join the general strike planned for November 11 and to simultaneously carry out a "shopping strike," consisting of not purchasing products or contracting services throughout the day, as a form of protest against the loss of purchasing power due to the rising costs of housing, food, electricity, and fuels.

According to the organization in a statement, it considers it "necessary" for consumers to make visible, through this halt in consumption, their rejection of an economic model that increasingly complicates access to essential goods and services.

With this initiative, Facua aims to transfer the social protest called for November 11 to the realm of consumption. The association urges citizens to avoid any purchases or contracts during the 24 hours of the day to highlight the "discontent" in a context that makes access to housing and other basic goods difficult due to the rise in electricity, fuels, mortgages, and essential products.

The organization also asks not to refuel and to suspend that day any dealings related to new contracts or changes in rates with electricity, gas, telecommunications companies, and financial entities.

Facua thus encourages turning this day into a massive protest against inequality, the reduction of purchasing power, and the growing obstacles to accessing decent housing.

The consumer association emphasizes that the housing crisis, the continuous rise in prices, and the loss of purchasing capacity are "aggravating inequality" and placing many families in a position of greater vulnerability.

For this reason, it denounces that this scenario reduces consumers' ability to meet their basic needs and demands that public administrations, political leaders, and business associations take responsibility and implement measures that guarantee decent living conditions.
