The Govern has completed this Wednesday before a notary the purchase of 67.24 percent of the properties known as Es Bosch, Es Bosch de Baix, and Es Bosch de Dalt, located in the municipality of Escorca, once the Consell de Govern gave its authorization on July 31.

The main environmental interest of these properties lies in their location, in the surroundings of the Natural Monument of Torrent de Pareis, a site of high ecological and landscape value in the Balearic Islands, as noted in a statement by the Conselleria de Agricultura, Pesca y Medio Natural.

The general director of the Treasury, Financial Policy, and Heritage, Susana Pérez, has been responsible for signing the purchase operation, in an event that was also attended by the conseller of the branch, Joan Simonet. The transaction represents an investment of 1.1 million euros, fully funded through the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS).

With this acquisition, the Govern maintains its line of action based on the purchase of properties to integrate them into public heritage, with the aim of conserving the territory and safeguarding biodiversity.

Likewise, it aims to ensure a responsible public use of these natural spaces, so that citizens can enjoy the natural heritage of the Islands without compromising its conservation.

This line of work, they have recalled, has already made possible other purchases throughout the legislature. Among them is the acquisition of the properties of Son Jaumell, Cala Torta, Cala Mitjana, and Cala Estreta, which total 583.9 hectares in the Natural Park of the Llevant Peninsula, thus reinforcing public ownership over areas of great environmental value.

Similarly, the purchase of the rustic property of sa Bastida, in Alaró, was closed, with an approximate area of 72 hectares and a price of 1.5 million euros from the Sustainable Tourism Tax. This property includes protected areas with unique biodiversity and elements of archaeological heritage, and the Govern plans to allocate them for public uses.

In Menorca, the autonomous Executive has also incorporated two properties in sa Boval Vella, within the scope of the Natural Park of s'Albufera des Grau. The operation allowed the addition of 3.8 hectares to public heritage located in the core of this protected space.

The integration of this type of land into the heritage of the Autonomous Community strengthens the capacity of the Administration to conserve natural spaces, preserve their environmental values, and ensure appropriate management, as well as public access compatible with their characteristics.
