The Minister of Rural Environment, María José Gómez, has highlighted rural offices as "essential" services for citizen attention and the sector.

According to the Galician Government in a press release, the regional official visited this Friday the facilities of the rural office in Meira, where the offices of the Forest District and the Base of Operational Units (BUO) for firefighting personnel are also located.

During the tour, Gómez emphasized the "important work" that these resources provide to the rural community, which can turn to them for all kinds of inquiries and procedures related to agriculture, livestock, and forestry, in addition to managing aid, subsidies, and other services related to their farms.

In this office, the Xunta has just completed various renovation and adaptation works, "in order to improve the attention provided to citizens and also the conditions of the professionals who work there."

Thus, the new headquarters brings together in a single space agricultural, veterinary, administrative, and forestry services, which simplifies procedures and avoids unnecessary travel for the population.

At the same time, the integration of the BUO represents an improvement in the working and resting conditions of the personnel who carry out their work in this environment. In total, around thirty people carry out their activities in these facilities.
