The PP candidate for Congress for Huesca for the general elections of 29N, Ana Alós, has assured this Sunday that “while Azcón and Claver manage and plan to improve our roads, the Government of Sánchez accumulates delays in essential infrastructure for our safety and development.”
Alós, accompanied by the PP candidate for Huesca for the Senate, Melania Mur, has traveled along the sections of the A-1239, between Albalate de Cinca and Esplús, and of the A-130, between Conchel and Santalecina, in order to verify on the ground the state of deterioration that these roads show. The visit also included Margarita González, PP spokesperson in Albalate de Cinca, and Fernando Abizanda, popular spokesperson in San Miguel de Cinca.
These two roads are part of the new Plan de Actuaciones Preferentes promoted jointly by the Government of Aragón and the Diputación Provincial de Huesca, a program that provides for a total investment of 37.4 million euros distributed across nine different interventions in the high-Aragón road network.
As Alós has advanced, both administrations have already reserved in their drafts of the 2027 budgets the necessary funding to launch the bidding processes for the road, roundabout and thoroughfare works included in said plan.
The popular candidate has taken aim at the “delays” of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez and cited as an example the Sabiñánigo bypass, whose works have remained halted for months despite being practically completed. She has pointed out that this very week the contracting company has ignored the ultimatum from the Ministry of Transport to resume the work.
Alós has also indicated that actions such as the completion of the A-21 dual carriageway between Jaca and Pamplona are still unresolved, with the section between Puente la Reina de Jaca and Fago still in the project updating phase, the upgrading of the N-260 between Balupor and Fiscal, or the improvement of the N-230 between Benabarre and Sopeira.
“We cannot continue to accept that fundamental projects drag on forever while neighbors have to put up with the problems of unfinished works or have to drive along roads with dangerous layouts. The Ministry has to assume its responsibilities, resolve the problems, and accelerate the investments. The people of high-Aragón need solutions, not excuses,” she demanded.
During the tour, Alós has recalled that the previous socialist Government of Aragon left out of the Extraordinary Plan approved in 2018 the road between Albalate and Esplús, a program whose execution is now being carried out under the current Executive of the Partido Popular.
He has underscored that "for eight years, the PSOE had the opportunity to address many of the needs of our roads and it did not. Huesca is suffering from significant deterioration of its regional network and the disputes between the different socialist families in Aragon and in our province also did not help to defend the interests of the people of Alto Aragón".
Along these lines, he has directed his criticisms at the socialist mayor of Esplús and candidate for the Senate, Tania Solans, and at the mayor of Albalate de Cinca, Ricardo Chárlez, for heading the protests to demand improvement of this route.
"The neighbors are entirely right to protest and demand a decent and safe road. What is surprising is to see their mayors at the head of the placards when for four years they had a Government of their own party in Aragon and they did not manage to get their exclusion from the Extraordinary Plan corrected. Citizens have the right to demand, but their mayors also have the obligation to give explanations", he said.
In view of this situation, Alós has highlighted cooperation between the Government of Jorge Azcón and the Diputación de Huesca, chaired by Isaac Claver, which will assume funding for the new plan at 70% and 30%, respectively. The program provides for actions on roads such as the A-130 between Conchel and Santalecina, the A-125 between Ardisa and Ayerbe, the A-1209 in Gurrea de Gállego, the A-1229 in Abiego, or the A-2613 between Lascuarre and Castigaleu, in addition to improvements to intersections and the through routes of Binaced and Huerto.
"We know that many roads still need to be fixed and that the neighbors want solutions as soon as possible. That is why we have to move from announcements to tenders and from tenders to the works".
"Azcón and Claver have shown that it is possible to work together and commit investments to recover lost time. Now it is time to comply and to carry out, and we demand that Sánchez's Government do the same with the infrastructure that is within its competence. Because behind every pending road there are neighbors who need security, companies that need good communications, and towns that want to keep having a future", Ana Alós concluded.
