The PSOE of Teruel has issued a warning about the "alarm signals" that, in its opinion, show the poor recent evolution of exports in the province. The party emphasizes that today it sells abroad for 98.5 million euros less than in 2023, which places Teruel as the Aragonese province with the greatest setback in this area.

The socialist deputy for Teruel and spokesperson in the Commission of Economy, Competitiveness, and Employment of the Cortes of Aragon, Pedro Polo, has highlighted that Jorge Azcón "inherited a province in full growth and, with governments lacking a clear economic project, is leaving it behind."

Relying on foreign trade statistics, which he has described as "worrisome," Polo has recalled that in 2024, the first complete year of Azcón at the head of the regional government, Turolense exports plummeted by 24.6%, falling from 602.3 million euros in 2023 to 454.2 million, that is, 148 million less in just one year. He added that in 2025 they remain 98.5 million below the figures of 2023 (-16.4%) and that Teruel is the Aragonese province that has lost the most export volume, compared to the 12% decline in Zaragoza and the 1.8% increase in Huesca.

The parliamentarian has stressed that currently Teruel exports even less than in 2022 and that the comparison with the previous stage "highlights the management of the PP." He recalled that "Azcón received an unbeatable inheritance: three consecutive years of export growth, 25%, 21%, and 15.5%, which took Teruel from 345 to 602 million, the maximum of the series. In two years of PP government, 246 million in exports have been lost along the way. That is not bad luck, it is a lack of project."

Polo has also wanted to clarify the 11% rebound in foreign sales recorded in 2025, mentioned in the Economic Report of Aragon, and has warned: "Let no one cling to that data. It is bouncing from the ground that the government itself has dug. To return to the level of 2023, Teruel would have to grow almost 20%."

The socialist leader has emphasized that, in his view, "the problem is not the companies, "that do their job and compete around the world, like Oxaquim, which exports 90% of its production to 85 countries from Alcañiz." The problem, he stressed, "is a Government that lives off rents, that does not have an industrial or internationalization project for Teruel and that dedicates itself to congratulating itself at galas while the indicators worsen."

In this line, he has maintained that "Teruel needs new projects, new ideas, and new leadership in the economic field from the PP and Vox. What we are seeing is a loss of momentum and a government without a clear economic project for Teruel."

Criticism of the complacency climate of Azcón's Government

The deputy has referred to the recent gala of the Teruel Business Awards, where the Minister of Economy of Jorge Azcón's Executive, Eva Valle, "exhibited a climate of complacency that does not withstand the contrast with the data." According to him, the companies in the province maintain their daily effort, but "the companies from Teruel strive every day. It is Azcón's Government, because since the PP has been in power, with and without Vox, Teruel sells less and less to the world," he replied.

After congratulating the distinguished firms in the XXII edition of the Teruel Business Awards --Tersol, Dinópolis, Naturuel, Joyería Polo, Oxaquim, and Tubertrack--, which he has defined as *the best example of what Teruel is capable of doing," Pedro Polo has announced that the Socialist Group will demand from the Minister of Economy that she detail what specific initiatives for external promotion and support for internationalization she has promoted for Teruel and what their results have been.

The deputy concluded by assuring that "Teruel does not need photos or triumphalist speeches. It needs a Government with a project, more work, and solutions, that is up to its companies."
