The Sagrada Família is usually scheduled to open on Fridays in September from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, so the Diada on September 11 is not listed among the holidays with reduced hours in its regular calendar.

However, there is an important circumstance for those planning to visit it this Friday: the official website of the Basilica currently shows a notice of temporary closure and states that it will inform when the temple can reopen.

What the usual hours would be

Between April and September, the Sagrada Família usually opens:

  • From Monday to Friday: from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Saturdays: from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Sundays: from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM

The temple itself warns that the Management may modify these hours exceptionally.

The Diada does not have its own special hours

The special hours that the Basilica expressly publishes refer to the 25th and 26th of December and the 1st and 6th of January, when it opens from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

September 11 is not listed among those exceptions.

But there is a closure notice

The decisive issue right now is not the Diada, but the temporary notice published by the Sagrada Família itself.

The website states that the Basilica is closed and will communicate the planned activities once it can reopen.

For this reason, it cannot yet be assured that it will receive visitors normally on September 11.

What those planning to visit it should do

The recommendation is to check the official information immediately before going, especially those who already have a ticket.

If the closure is lifted, the regular hours planned for a Friday in September would be 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, unless the Basilica communicates other conditions.
