The PSOE is considering taking legal action against the Partido Popular for the dissemination of a video made with artificial intelligence in which Begoña Gómez, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, José Luis Ábalos, and Santos Cerdán, among others, appear acknowledging alleged crimes and irregularities that they have not confessed. The recording, published on the official accounts of the PP, responds to the campaign launched by the socialists on the occasion of the visit of the Argentine president, Javier Milei, to Madrid.
Sources from Ferraz have confirmed to Europa Press that the possibility of going to court is on the table, although a lawsuit has not yet been decided nor have the possible legal actions been specified. The party is analyzing the implications of the content, which uses artificially generated images and voices to attribute statements to real people.

The video was disseminated this Wednesday, after Pedro Sánchez published a recording in which he claimed his status as "left-handed" in response to the derogatory use of that term by Milei. The PSOE also displayed a banner at its headquarters in Ferraz with the message "Left-handed people welcome you to Spain."
From "left-handed and proud" to "dumb and proud"
The PP has used the same format as the socialist campaign to create a parody featuring figures linked to the PSOE. Using artificial intelligence, the video reproduces their faces and attributes statements to them about various political and judicial controversies.
Begoña Gómez, wife of the Prime Minister, appears stating that she obtained a chair thanks to her husband's position, while former minister José Luis Ábalos supposedly admits to having engaged in prostitution and received illegal commissions.
The montage also includes former president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, to whom a statement about hiding jewels is attributed, and the former Secretary of Organization of the PSOE Santos Cerdán, who supposedly appears acknowledging the receipt of kickbacks and his membership in a criminal organization.
The former socialist militant Leire Díez also appears in the recording, with a fictitious statement about hiring people to act against a judge. The reference alludes to the alleged dealings against Beatriz Biedma, a magistrate who investigated Sánchez's brother, which are being investigated by the National Court.
Finally, former socialist spokesperson Montse Mínguez appears, who recently resigned after her partner's real estate dealings became known. The video attributes to her a statement linking her political activity on housing with her partner's real estate properties.
The recording ends by transforming the socialist slogan "left-handed and proud" into "dumb and proud", an expression with which the popular party attacks its political opponents.
More than a million views on X
The publication has achieved wide dissemination on social media. According to data collected by Europa Press, the video exceeds one million views on X, accumulates more than 500,000 on Instagram, and surpasses 200,000 on TikTok.
The controversy comes in the midst of the pre-campaign for the general elections on November 29, at a time when parties are resorting to videos, montages, and digital content to respond to their opponents.
The case also opens a debate about the use of artificial intelligence in political communication, especially when it is used to recreate the image and voice of real people and attribute statements to them that they have never made.
For the moment, the PSOE has not announced any formal legal action against the PP. Ferraz continues to study possible legal avenues while the video remains disseminated on the accounts of the popular party.
