The president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, and the former councilor and current deputy of Junts in the Parliament, Lluís Puig, have celebrated a "discreet and private meeting" after his return to Catalonia, nine years after 1-O, according to sources from the Govern.
This is the second time that both have seen each other face to face, after the meeting they held in November 2024 during a visit by Illa to the Delegation of the Generalitat in Brussels, on that occasion they limited themselves to greeting each other and briefly exchanging a few words.
In this new appointment, of which no further details have emerged, the Govern emphasizes that the president "celebrates" that Puig can carry out his political and parliamentary functions and rights with total normality.
Puig returned to Catalonia on Wednesday, thus culminating the nine years that have passed since 1-O, and this Thursday at 3:00 PM he returned to the Parliament, where he was received by its president, Josep Rull, by the members of the Table and by representatives of Junts, ERC, the Comuns, the CUP, and AC.
Unlike Rull and the Table, Illa did not go to receive him upon his arrival at the Parliament and was also not present in the hemicycle during the first words that Puig has pronounced from the Chamber.
