Zaragoza celebrates this Monday, October 12, the traditional Offering of Flowers to the Virgin of the Pillar, one of the central acts of its patron saint festivities. The day will begin at 06:30 hours and will feature the participation of 994 registered groups, which will gather nearly 100,000 people to deposit their bouquets in front of the floral structure installed in the Plaza del Pilar.
In addition to the organized groups, citizens will be able to participate individually without the need to register in advance. For this, specific accesses have been enabled through San Vicente de Paúl and Arcedianos streets, which will remain available until 20:00 hours.
The Zaragoza City Council recommends avoiding peak hours, especially between 10:00 and 14:00 hours, when a greater concentration of participants is expected at the accesses and around the plaza.
What time does the Offering of Flowers start and end
The Offering of Flowers will begin at 06:30 hours on Monday, October 12, with the entry of the first registered groups. Throughout the day, the participating groups will access in a staggered manner, following the order and schedules assigned by the organization.
For those who wish to make the offering individually, the access time will be extended until 20:00 hours. However, this limit corresponds to individual access and does not necessarily imply that all groups will have completed their route by that time.
The main schedules are as follows:
- Start of the Offering of Flowers: 06:30
- Expected peak attendance period: 10:00–14:00
- Last individual access: 20:00
- Completion of the group parade: According to the development of the day
Route of the Offering of Flowers of the Pillar 2026
The destination of all participants is the Plaza del Pilar, where the structure is located on which the bouquets and floral arrangements are placed in honor of the patron saint of Zaragoza.
The 994 registered groups will follow the itineraries and shifts assigned by the organization to regulate access to the city center and avoid crowds.
For their part, individuals who come without being part of a group must head to the individual accesses enabled on San Vicente de Paúl and Arcedianos. From these points, the organizing staff will channel the route to the flower delivery area.
It is advisable to keep in mind that the itineraries of the groups and the individual accesses are different, so it is recommended to follow the signage and the indications of the municipal staff.
How to participate in the Offering without prior registration
It is not necessary to belong to an association, club, or organized group to participate in the Offering of Flowers. The City Council allows individuals to attend, as long as the dress code and the organization's indications are respected.
The individual itinerary begins on San Jorge street, continues along San Vicente de Paúl and Arcedianos, and ends at the Plaza del Pilar. According to the municipal regulations of 2026, access will be enabled from 06:45 to 20:00 hours.
Participants must attend in a traditional costume from an autonomous community or country, although distinctive clothing from entities and corporations is also exceptionally accepted.
The two routes of the registered groups
The organization establishes two main itineraries for the groups, which must go to their departure point at the assigned time:
- Route 1: Plaza de Aragón, Paseo de la Independencia, Calle Alfonso I, and Plaza del Pilar.
- Route 2: Plaza de Santa Engracia, Paseo de la Independencia, Calle Don Jaime I, and Plaza del Pilar.
The City Council of Almochuel will be in charge of opening the Offering at 06:30 hours. In total, 99,980 people are registered in the 994 groups announced by the council, while 98 groups have requested to perform on the stage located in front of the Virgin.
What are the best hours to attend
The City Council recommends avoiding the time frame from 10:00 to 14:00 hours if participating individually, as it coincides with the highest influx of offerers and with the institutional events taking place in the Plaza del Pilar.
To reduce waiting times, it is preferable to attend early in the morning or during the afternoon, always within the hours enabled for individual access. The organization warns that it cannot guarantee specific waiting times.
Accessibility and recommendations for October 12
The two group routes and the individual itinerary are accessible. In addition, people with disabilities, reduced mobility, or chronic illnesses who have requested an appointment in advance will be able to use the special access located behind La Lonja, between 08:00 and 10:30 hours. The application deadline ended on September 25.
In terms of mobility, Zaragoza has reinforced public transport during the Fiestas del Pilar, with tram service for 24 hours and modifications in different bus lines due to traffic cuts in the center.
The Offering will continue until the last registered group completes its route, so 8:00 PM marks the closure of individual access, not necessarily the end of the event.
