The Minister of Territorial Policy and 'single command' of the Executive in Ceuta, Ángel Víctor Torres, has sent this Wednesday to the explanations offered by the Director General of the National Police, Francisco Pardo, who has assured that "there is no report whatsoever" that holds Morocco responsible, which is why he has urged the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to be "rigorous" in his statements.
Torres expressed himself this way in an appearance before the media in Ceuta, after the Ministry of the Interior communicated that the director of the Police has informed the Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, that no document has been prepared that relates Morocco to the migratory crisis experienced in the autonomous city.
Following the calls for caution made by various members of the Government regarding the report revealed by 'El Español', the minister detailed that they became aware of that information on the night of Tuesday and, as a result, Marlaska summoned the director of the Police to gather clarifications.
In this sense, he has confirmed that the highest authority of the National Police has communicated to the Government that there is no report attributing to Morocco the responsibility for the massive entry of immigrants recorded more than a month ago in Ceuta.
Likewise, Torres has pointed out that he coincided with Alberto Núñez Feijóo during the institutional event of the Day of Ceuta and took advantage of that meeting to demand "rigor" when publicly addressing this information about the possible involvement of Morocco.
Updated figures of returned immigrants
On another note, the minister has updated the data on voluntary returns and has indicated that there are 3,648 migrants who have returned voluntarily to Morocco between July 31 and this Wednesday, August 2, which represents 129 more people compared to the figure provided on Tuesday.
Similarly, he has reiterated the urgency of having facilities "as soon as possible" for the reception of migrants. "It's a mathematical rule, the sooner the spaces, the sooner they will leave," he has pointed out. However, he has warned that "what cannot be is that any space brings with it protests," which is why he has insisted that these reception resources are "consensual and unanimous" both by the Government of Spain and by the Executive of the autonomous city.
