Business tourism in Brazil will register an increase of 13.8% this year and will contribute 35.8 billion dollars (31.024 billion euros) to the economy, which will position it as the market with the highest growth among the 15 main corporate travel destinations in the world and will allow it to maintain the tenth global position in this segment.
This is derived from the report "2026 Business Travel Index (BTI)" prepared by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), which frames Brazil's behavior in a context of strong expansion of corporate tourism worldwide, with a projected spending of 1.71 trillion dollars (1.482 trillion euros), 7.2% higher.
The analysis highlights that elements such as the energy sector and regional stability are driving business travel across the continent, with "direct impacts" for Brazil and for Latin America as a whole.
The document also emphasizes that companies are redirecting their travel towards "strategic activities," which will increase the demand for specialized services and better connectivity infrastructure.
"Globally, the average daily spending per business trip reached 875 dollars [758.3 euros]. Accommodation and air transport represent 52% of the total expenses of the traveler," explained the president of the Brazilian Agency for International Promotion of Tourism (Embratur), Bruno Reis.
"This demonstrates that the country has the infrastructure to meet the demand of a corporate traveler. The financial movement generated by this segment has a direct impact on the economy and on the productive chain of our destinations," he added.
FOREIGN TOURISM
In parallel, international tourism generated 5.6 billion dollars (4.853 billion euros) in the first six months of the year, which represents an increase of 12.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. In June alone, 809 million dollars (701.1 million euros) in revenue was reached.
In the accumulated first half, the number of arrivals was the second highest for this time interval, after the South American country received 5,261,733 visitors.
