CCOO has made a complaint public about the non-payment of the August payroll and the summer bonus by LESER Facility Services to the staff responsible for cleaning various centers and public dependencies in La Rioja.
The company carries out cleaning work for the Government of La Rioja in facilities such as the Active Participation Centers of Logroño, the SEPE of La Rioja, the Roads Demarcation, and the La Cometa Nursery School.
From CCOO, "we consider it unacceptable that a contractor of public services does not fulfill its fundamental obligation to promptly pay the salaries of the workers who daily ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of these facilities."
The union emphasizes that the situation "is particularly concerning because the workers have fulfilled their obligations and continue to perform their work, while the company does not fulfill its own, generating a situation of uncertainty and economic harm for the affected families."
Therefore, CCOO demands that LESER Facility Services "immediately proceed to pay the August payroll and the summer bonus, as well as guarantee that this situation does not happen again." At the same time, it urges the Government of La Rioja, as the contracting and responsible Administration for these services, to "take action, demand compliance with the labor obligations of the contracting company, and adopt the necessary measures to guarantee the rights of the workers."
From the union organization, they remind that "we remind you that the contracting of a public service cannot become a way to precarize the working conditions of those who carry it out." In this sense, they insist that Public Administrations "must ensure that the contracting companies scrupulously comply with both the conditions established in the contracts and with labor legislation and the applicable collective agreements."
Finally, CCOO warns that, "if the company does not immediately regularize the pending payments, CCOO will study and implement the necessary union and legal measures to defend the rights of the staff. CCOO demands immediate solutions: working without pay is not an option."
