Expedia Group has presented a series of innovations to strengthen its activity in vacation rentals, with the launch of 12 new features aimed at Vrbo partners, its main brand in this segment, and its property management software Escapia, the company has reported.
Among the main additions are new pricing structures and promotional campaigns, the possibility of booking up to the last day due to the rise in last-minute bookings, limited-time offers, and non-refundable rates. Additionally, the option to include Vrbo accommodations within a package booked through Expedia is being added.
With the intention of improving the quality of stays, the group is also advancing solutions that facilitate a smoother arrival experience at the accommodation, as well as the incorporation of flexible cancellation policies for guests.
Regarding Escapia, the improvements revolve around a new booking grid with an updated interface, additional optimization tools, and a reinforcement of help systems against fraud and chargebacks.
Part of these functionalities is already operational, while the rest will be gradually rolled out at a "steady pace" of launches until 2027.
"Our strategic investments across all areas of the business are designed to delight travelers, drive growth for our partners, and unlock the potential offered by the Expedia ecosystem," highlighted the company's Vice President of Vacation Rental Alliances, Tim Rosolio.
