Fineco, the private banking division of Kutxabank, has launched the advisory council for its 'family office' service. This new body incorporates members from business families and heads of active family offices, so that "it is the families themselves, who know firsthand the challenges faced by a large estate, who will contribute permanently to its evolution."

As Fineco has explained, the presidency of the council falls to the investment manager of the single 'family office' of a "prominent business family" and author of various international publications focused on the design and governance of family investment offices.

Alongside this profile, other professionals are integrated whose trajectories offer complementary views on some of the most significant challenges faced by business families in managing and organizing their wealth.

As the entity has pointed out, the advisory council groups profiles with "especially valuable experiences in areas such as family governance, generational continuity, wealth professionalization, and the management of large estates."

Among the represented capabilities are direct experience in business liquidity operations and in the subsequent creation of 'family office' structures; specialized knowledge in family governance and wealth coordination; the perspective of a third generation of a business family with extensive experience in incorporating new generations and in the continuity of the family project; as well as the vision of a fourth generation with a "deep knowledge" of the industrial and business fabric.

For Fineco, the "richness of the council lies precisely in that complementarity: its members bring different experiences, but deeply connected to each other, that allow addressing from multiple perspectives some of the most relevant challenges for business families and their estates."

The entity emphasizes that the variety of present trajectories responds to a shared objective: to offer a practical approach to family wealth management "from direct experience, not from theory."

The Council will hold periodic meetings in order to review the evolution of the service and anticipate the needs of families in areas such as investment, governance, and generational succession.

The creation of this body is framed in the phase of consolidation and strengthening of the service. Since mid-2025, the volume of assets associated with the 'family office' has doubled, driven by the incorporation of new professionals, the arrival of new family and institutional groups, and the gradual extension of the service among clients who were already working with Fineco.

At the same time, the entity has made a strong technological commitment aimed at asset consolidation, relying on an infrastructure that expands the capabilities for monitoring, analysis, and reporting, and that allows for a more detailed and structured view of liquid assets, alternative investments, and other components of each family's wealth, with advanced supervision and control functions.

"The creation of this Council is a natural consequence of our evolution. The more we grow, the greater the responsibility to continue improving, and the best way to avoid complacency is to surround ourselves with talent, experience, and independence of judgment," indicated the CEO of Fineco, Daniel Irezábal.
