The Finnish telecommunications and networks group Nokia closed the first nine months of 2026 with a net profit attributed of 240 million euros, which represents an increase of 120% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the company itself. Despite the improvement in results, its shares fell more than 3% after the publication of the accounts.

Between January and September, Nokia's net sales reached 14.402 billion euros, 7% more than in the first nine months of 2025. Within this advance, the infrastructure area stood out, whose revenues rose 13%, to 6.024 billion euros. In turn, the mobile networks division recorded a year-on-year increase of 3%, to 8.085 billion.

By geographical areas, revenue in America rose until September to 5.129 billion euros, which represents an increase of 9% compared to the previous year. In Asia Pacific, sales stood at 3.081 billion, 1% more, while in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) revenues advanced 9%, to a total of 6.194 billion euros.

If we analyze only the third quarter, Nokia's net profit attributed increased by 94.9%, to 152 million euros. In that same period, from July to September, net sales totaled 5.154 billion euros, which implies a growth of 9.7% in year-on-year comparison.

"In AI and Cloud, net sales more than doubled year-on-year and we achieved 1.5 billion euros in new orders," said Justin Hotard, president and CEO of Nokia, for whom the solid order book positions the company for future growth.

In this line, the multinational expects that its combined activities of Optical Networks and IP will register an advance of between 25% and 30% in 2027. "Nokia's strengths are ideal to meet the growing demand for larger, distributed, and hyperconnected AI infrastructure," Hotard added.
